Our Story

Founder with Rottweiler on sofa in warm golden light

This brand exists because of a dog named Zoe.

Zoe was a Rottweiler. Stubborn, loyal, 95 pounds of pure heart. She slept at the foot of the bed, supervised every meal, and had a way of leaning into you that made everything else disappear.

I lost Zoe too early. And when I started asking why — really asking — the answers were hard to hear. The chemicals in the products I bought her. The dyes in her collar. The things I didn't know to look for in her food, her toys, the things she touched every single day. I thought I was giving her the best. I wasn't even close.

That grief became a question: why is it so hard to find products for your dog that meet the same standard you'd set for yourself?

I started researching. AZO dyes — banned in children's clothing in the EU, but perfectly legal in your dog's collar. Chromium-tanned leather that looks beautiful but leaches chemicals with every wear. Plastic bowls that break down into microparticles. The more I learned, the angrier I got.

Orah & Hound was born from that anger — and from love. Every product we make meets a standard I wish had existed when Zoe was here. premium full-grain leather only. No AZO dyes, ever. free from harmful chemicals and dyes fabrics tested against over 100 harmful substances. Food-grade stainless steel. Solid brass hardware that won't corrode or flake.

This isn't about luxury for the sake of luxury. It's about the belief that the beings who give us their whole hearts deserve better than what most of the pet industry is willing to offer.

Zoe deserved better. Your dog does too.
